Melt ("the app") is a focus timer. This policy explains what happens to data when you use it.
Melt does not have accounts, does not have a server, and does not send your timers, tasks or streaks anywhere. All of that stays on your phone.
The app does show ads, and the Google AdMob advertising service collects some information to do that. That is the only data leaving your device.
Melt saves the following locally, on your phone only:
This information is never transmitted to us and we cannot see it. It is not backed up to any server by the app. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it permanently.
Melt displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects:
This data is collected and shared by Google, not by us, and is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention.
Google's own policies explain this in detail:
Reset or delete your advertising ID. On Android, open Settings → Privacy → Ads. You can reset the identifier or delete it entirely, which stops personalised advertising.
Delete everything Melt stores. Uninstall the app, or use Settings → Apps → Melt → Storage → Clear data. There is no server copy, so this removes all of it.
Notifications. Melt asks permission to show the countdown notification. You can refuse, or turn it off later in Android settings. The timer still works without it.
Melt is not directed at children and is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will help.
Melt is a timer. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it does not collect health data. It does not connect to Health Connect or any health service.
Because the data stays on your device, it is protected by your device's own security — your screen lock and Android's app sandboxing.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date at the top.
